Privacy Policy for Video Compressor

Effective Date: September 3, 2026
Last Updated: September 3, 2026

Video Compressor processes videos locally on your device. The current version does not require an account and does not collect, upload, sell, or share personal data.

This Privacy Policy applies to Video Compressor (the “App”), published by 成都布莱顿网络科技有限公司 (Chengdu Brighton Network Technology Co., Ltd.) (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

1. Information the App Accesses

1.1 Videos you choose

With your permission, the App accesses videos from your device’s media library so that you can select, preview, and compress them. Video files, thumbnails, and technical video information—such as filename, duration, resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and file size—are processed locally on your device.

The App does not upload your videos or their metadata to our servers. Your original videos are not deleted, modified, or replaced by the App.

1.2 Locally stored app data

The App may store the following information locally on your device:

This information is used only to provide the App’s functionality and is not transmitted to us.

1.3 Information we do not collect

The current version does not collect or transmit names, contact details, account credentials, government identifiers, location, contacts, messages, call information, advertising identifiers, persistent device identifiers, payment information, analytics, advertising data, tracking data, or remotely reported crash data.

2. Permissions

2.1 Photos, videos, and storage

Media or storage access is used only to display videos available for selection, read videos you choose for compression, and save compressed output when you request it. On supported Android versions, you may grant access only to selected media.

2.2 Notifications

Notification permission may be requested so the App can display the status and progress of an active video-compression task, particularly while the App is running in the background.

2.3 Foreground processing and wake lock

Android foreground-service and wake-lock capabilities may be used to keep an active compression task running and reduce the risk of interruption. These capabilities are not used to collect personal data.

The App does not request camera, microphone, contacts, or location permission.

3. How Information Is Used

Information accessed or created locally is used only to let you select and preview videos; compress videos using your chosen settings; display progress and results; save compressed videos at your request; maintain local settings, task state, and history; and diagnose errors locally.

4. Data Processing and Sharing

Video compression is performed locally on your device. The current version does not transmit your videos, media metadata, settings, compression history, or other personal data to us. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share personal data. The App does not include advertising, analytics, or cloud-storage services that receive your video content or usage data.

If disclosure is required by applicable law, we can disclose only information that we actually possess. Because the current version does not receive user data from the App, we ordinarily have no App user content to disclose.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

All App data described in this Policy remains on your device unless you choose to export or save a compressed video elsewhere.

Because the App does not provide user accounts and does not store user data on our servers, there is no server-side account or cloud profile to delete.

6. Security

The App relies on Android permission controls and application sandboxing to limit access to device data. Media is accessed only after permission is granted and only for the functions described in this Policy. We take reasonable steps to design the App so processing and storage remain local. However, no device or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

7. Children’s Privacy

The App is a general-purpose utility and is not specifically directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children or other users.

8. Third-Party Processing Libraries

The App uses software libraries for video decoding, playback, compression, media selection, local preferences, and notifications. In the current version, these functions operate locally and are not configured to send your video content or personal data to third-party analytics, advertising, or cloud services.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App’s functionality, data practices, or legal requirements change. The updated Policy will be posted at the same publicly accessible URL, and the effective date will be revised. If a future version begins collecting or sharing data, we will update this Policy and the Google Play Data safety disclosure accordingly.
